What to Expect

Laying the Foundation for Total Health

In some ways, one could say that chiropractic care is a bit like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly. When building a house, if you tried to build your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually may even collapse. If you tried to build your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. These concepts apply to your body as well, and advanced chiropractic posture correction addresses many common reasons why people experience recurring pain and other health issues before true health can be achieved. With Chiropractic Biophysics, your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of posture correction:

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are in pain when you come into our chiropractic office, our first objective is to help you reduce pain and start feeling better as soon as possible. Depending on the severity of the underlying condition which is causing your pain, it is typical for a patient to need chiropractic care or adjustments three times per week until the pain diminishes.

Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care

The corrective phase is where long term change begins to happen. Muscles, tendons and ligaments have to be remodeled. The remodeling allows the body to be renewed and revitalized - better equipped to handle the stresses of life. The goal of corrective care is to improve the structure of the human spine and bring it back to an optimal shape. The changing shape of one's spine is what allows for long term functional improvements of one's symptoms. The length of this phase of care varies according to the severity of the case, but requires that the person be seen three times per week.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

The goal of wellness care is to maintain the changes you've made to your posture and hence your overall well-being. Continuing to enjoy the benefits of improved posture requires that the person maintain their at-home exercises and other prescribed activities. Our wellness care patients may be seen in the office 1-2 times per month. Our joy abounds when patients not only maintain their posture but take advantage of wellness classes and workshops that Integrity Chiropractic hosts.
